Make Your Own Havaianas 2011

Havaianas has been a worldwide favorite when it comes to flip-flops. And because these slippers sell like pancakes, imitations sprang all over the world. In fact, there are times when one can never distinguish the original from the fake. That's why it was a great relief for me when I learned that Havaianas will be having a Make Your Own Havaianas event this year. Already on its sixth year, the Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH) event will let us have a pair that we can completely personalize!

The public run of this event started today and will carry on until Monday, May 16. I went there yesterday--on the Exclusive-for-Havaianaticos day (before I went to SMX for Memo's show on PFW). No, I'm not a Havaianatico, I was just invited by one of its organizers to cover the event. Thanks to Andrew Sha for inviting me! :)

Celebrity sightings.

It was honestly a super fun experience. Well, it was actually my first time to attend an MYOH event, so I was quite oblivious to the whole process. Thankfully, the staff were soooooo accommodating and helpful; a first-timer (like me!) will feel at ease. :)

The ones who assisted me in creating my very own pair. They're so nice! :)

My initial choices: soles (Amazonia and Sand Grey), straps (Dark Brown, Amazonia, Blue/Grey Top Mix, and Marine Blue), and lots of pins! :)

I ended up choosing the Amazonia sole, Dark Brown straps, and four pins (I Heart NY and MNL on the left flip-flops; Eiffel Tower and Limited Edition on the right). New York and Paris are my dream destinations, hence the choice of pins. I'll be uploading photos of my new pair soon! :)

Thanks for the free pair, Havaianas! :)

So what are you waiting for? Head to the Rockwell Tent now! This event will run until Monday, 10am to 8pm! :)
