How to: Massage Your Face Like a Facialist

Massaging your face not only makes shaving easier, it promotes blood flow to your face. Have you ever had a very nice facial massage in your favorite facial clinic and come out of it looking more youthful? This is definitely the reason behind that. Promoting adequate blood flow on your face makes it look refreshed and younger looking.

Via Birchbox Man's YouTube channel, here is a video on how to massage your face barber-style or, as what I prefer to call it, facialist-style. You can substitute the Kiehl's product they used in this video with a more affordable one, like Phytology's Marula oil or a scented emu oil by Prongs.

MAJOR FOODIE: Ghenne's Coffee

As you have prolly known through my previous post, we've tried a local cafe along Marcos Hi-way last Sunday. It is located inside Yang Chow restaurant and is called Ghenne's Coffee.

Quick Post: Red Velvet Cake

Last Sunday, we visited a fairly new cafe located along Marcos Hi-way. And just what a popular person I know do every time she visits a cafe/restaurant for the first time, I ordered the one flavor I taste (when chocolate cakes are not available) as my reference of the best cafe/restaurant there is.

A very detailed review is coming up tomorrow. Stay tuned! :)

The Dapper Eye: 100% Pure Forest Hydrating Hand Wash

I've come across this product when the president of one of our brand partners gave me a bottle, and I have used it a number of times since I first tested it last April. What can I say, a business in online beauty retail has its perks! Hehe. An in depth review follows.

EVENTS: The First Ever Saladbox Makeup Sparty

Philippines' first beauty box, Saladbox is all about beauty innovations. They introduced a fresh concept in beauty e-commerce last year via their subscription service, and this year, they are introducing yet another innovation: a first in the beauty world: Makeup Sparties. A Makeup Sparty is basically a makeup workshop slash spa party, so everyone who will attend gets to "learn the basics and trends in makeup while being pampered". The first Saladbox Makeup Sparty will be held on August 31st, so there's plenty of time for you girls to prep for this event! Read on for more details on this one-of-a-kind event.

MAJOR FOODIE: Waffles Corner

Last Saturday, we went to SSS Village in Marikina to (finally) try the new waffle place there called Waffles Corner. It was a very cozy place with warm-colored interiors and wooden tables and chairs. I ordered a waffle with real strawberry and ripe mango fruit slices. Read more to see how it looked like:

Blogust 2013!

I know. The title of the post seem funny and weird to some of you. Haha!

Blogust (Blog-August) 2013 is basically my plan to blog every single day of the month! Enough of that August "Oh-ghost" drama! I personally believe that all those bad luck in August come from people who are afraid to take risks. Last time I checked, when someone works hard, God does the rest and makes things happen for that person. Now I sounded a bit preacher-like there, but whatever! Haha.

I actually got the term from Ingrid Nilsen (Missglamorazzi on YouTube) - I just changed it from VLOGUST to BLOGUST, as I don't "vlog". Hmmm. That gives me an idea. Hehe.

Hopefully, I'd manage to blog every single day this August - and almost everyday from September onwards! Fingers crossed! :)

Quick Post: New Favorite Scrub

I am loving this facial scrub from Innisfree. It's got almond and sugar bits and smells really really nice. Will be posting a "Dapper Eye" (i.e. in-depth) review in the following days. :)

New Stuff to Try Out: Missha for Men Urban Soul Essence and 100% Pure Hydrating Hand Wash

Quick post! I received these grooming products yesterday as freebies from Missha Philippines and Canary Cosmetics (who distributes natural cosmetics and skin care brands from the US). I am very excited to try both. During my visit at Missha SM Pasig, I was able to try their BB Cream for Men, and I loved the effects it did to my skin. I am seriously contemplating on buying a tube. Anyway, Miss Noemi, President of Missha Philippines asked me to try out these Urban-Soul Essence, and I am really excited to do so! Will update you once I did via Twitter and a post here in the blog! :)

So there--I have to prep now for a dinner/bonding/kwentuhan with my friends. Have a great weekend!

The Dapper Eye: Etude House I Need You, Royal Jelly! Mask Sheet

I love sheet masks, and I have found a lot of variants from different brands, all Korean. And right now, I like you to join me on my quest to finding the best sheet mask for my face. Among the first ones I tried, the Etude House I Need You, Royal Jelly! Mask Sheet. Hit or miss or just fine? Read on.

My Picks at Zalora: Shorts and Shoes

Online shopping has finally become popular to Filipinos. And one of the most popular e-commerce sites in the country is Zalora. I honestly am always awestruck every time I talk to a person and find out that he is not familiar with Zalora. I mean, really? Anywho, I have been browsing through Zalora the other night and saw some stuff I loved. Read on for my personal picks (shorts and shoes) this week!

The Dapper Eye: Carmex Moisturizing Lip Balm Jar in Original

I hate it when I get chapped, sunburned, and/or wind-burned lips. Well, who likes it anyway? And now, I can say I have found my lips' best friend in the American classic Carmex.

The Dapper Eye: Ysabel's Daughter Revitalizing Facial Serum

Welcome to the first installment of The Dapper Eye series! I've come across this product because of my business, and I have been using it since I first tested it last January. In depth review follows.

The Dapper Eye (My Version of the GQ Eye)

Hey everyone! Last month, I told you of the little change in the direction of this blog and, finally, let me introduce you to The Dapper Eye, a series of blog posts that will feature my thoughts on the grooming and lifestyle stuff I've used, am currently using, and will be using.

The Dapper Eye is actually my own take on the infamous The GQ Eye and I am really excited to share to you my thoughts on every thing grooming- and lifestyle-related. I've come up with a lot of grooming product reviews already, so expect a whole lot of them on the days (and months--and years!) to come. I know that most grooming stuff do not need the "eye" to review them/test them out, but whatever--I love how The Dapper Eye sounds, and the "Eyes" are used to scrutinize things, so there. :)

Year-ender with friends 2012

For years now, it has been a tradition for us, high school friends, to celebrate the holidays every year. Last December was our third year, and it was our second year that we celebrated on New Year's Eve. I know it's kinda late to post this, but I wanted to show you how we celebrated the last day of 2012.

February Favorites

QUICK POST: As I've said on my previous post, one of the perks of having a beauty sampling business is that I get to try A LOT of grooming, beauty, and lifestyle products. So, as expected, most of my favorites last month are grooming- and lifestyle-related. In February, this trio has done wonders to me. More details and in-depth reviews on succeeding posts. Time to hit the sack! :)

P.S. I have a meeting tomorrow morning: contract signing for a partnership with one of the biggest beauty brands worldwide (insert giddy face here).

Change in Direction (Kind of)

For those of you who have known this blog since its conception two years ago, it is prolly common knowledge that Paul Dapper (Meester Dapper then) was intended to be a fashion blog--to chronicle my every day life and fashion escapades and discoveries. However, things change, and so do preferences. After less than a year of posting OOTD posts, I've come to realize that it might not be something I can do every single day. I admire all fashion bloggers who can document their every day outfits through their blogs--that really needs dedication and a whole lot of effort! :)

I will still post OOTDs from time to time, depending on my mood. However, I am planning to change the direction of this blog just a little.

As you have probably read from a previous post, I started a business that involves beauty, grooming, and lifestyle products last year. And one of the (absolutely awesome) perks of having a beauty sampling business is that I get to try A LOT of grooming, beauty, and lifestyle products. This is where I focus my blog to: men's grooming and lifestyle. I have been browsing through the blogosphere (I have to use that word lol) and I haven't come across a men's grooming blogger. Well, not in the Philippines, at least. So I thought, why not give it a try? I have the things (and man gears) that I'll be needing to survive the new journey anyway!

So there! Expect A LOT of men's grooming, beauty, and lifestyle product reviews on future posts. I am very excited and feel that this will make me closer to this blog than I have ever been!

On Blog Hiatus and Anniversaries

Hi everyone! This is embarassing. Last September, I kinda promised you guys that I would be blogging more often. Well, it turns out, I did not. But I'm not making excuses! :)

I started a new business, which started a trend in the beauty industry in the country. And now, after almost six months, I am very happy with how things are. Of course, our achievements today for that business are just a very very very small dent on what we are planning to achieve, but this is the start. We are starting to have more followers on our social media sites, more happy customers (YAY!), and more wonderful brand partners. I personally am so stoked and feel that this is really the start of something huge for my baby (my beauty business). Pwera usog!

Now that things are, in a way, falling into their rightful places, I may have more time updating this blog. I was thinking the other day how I peaked at Top 90-91 on Topblogs.com.ph's Fashion and Beauty category when I started this blog two years ago--that, I think, paved way for me being invited to events like the Make Your Own Havaianas and some Lifestyle Network launches. Now, I'm on the 500+ rank! What the?! Haha! But I'm optimistic that I'd regain my ranking soon! Hahaha :)

It feels exciting that I am about to have an outlet on my feelings, thoughts, and frustrations again, however online and very public. Haha!

Oh, and I almost forgot! This month is the second anniversary month of my blog, and I am definitely giving away A LOT of treats! That's actually why the picture on this post says "Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen". And, true, a lot of wonderful things are about to happen. Stay tuned! :)
